Fashion Trends for Fall 2008

Dear ladies, is what our clothes will look like come September 2008. Early this July, runways were filled with gorgeous frocks which featured – yes you guessed it neck embellishments.

Some were very dainty and pretty, in satin and lace, some were way out there, with voluminous collars and drapes.

At BCBG, Max Azaria, went for soft colors and a bolero-like and baby-doll collared ensembles that chic-ly complemented the prim belted mini-dresses. Gianfranco Ferré went for a soft, wrapped-around-the-neck style in light colors that complemented his dark, flowy dresses. Pirrot at Valentino went for romantic, in ruffled lace. John Galliano went for drapes.

6267 went futuristic in really, really (and I mean really) wide collars. At Jill Sander, the designer aimed at creating shapes around the neck and shoulders with a soft flowing front in gray hues. Ditto for Alessandro Dell’Acqua, but aimed for bright and warm colors. Allegra Hicks, Yigal Azrouël and Lanvin all went for double lapel creations.

Looks like our upper bodies will be well-protected from the fall chill, yet we’ll still look fashionable.
