In one bold move, songstress Cassie shaved half of her head – and kept the other half’s long tresses – for a unique and edgy look. Stars like Carmen Electra followed suit, and started the half-shaved head trend. I’m still not sure how I feel about this trend.

Braided Ponytail

Sweet meets sexy in the braided ponytail trend. Celebs like Kate Hudson and Diane Kruger were spotted sexy, loosely braided ponytails.

Keep your hairstyle sweet and simple this summer by braiding your bangs into a French braid a la Jennifer Aniston and Rashida Jones. Style the rest of your hair however you want: straight and simple, or wild and curly.

One-sided braid

If you don’t want to go all-out on the braid trend then meet it half-way, literally. Check out Lauren Conrad’s and Isla Fisher’s stylish plait on the one side of their head.

Shag Do

Get the edge off your fringe a bit this summer by working a softer shag do. Take your cue from Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Richie. Opt for lash-sweeping bangs and long texture layers.

The classic Grace Kelly waves never go out of style, as seen on Claire Danes and Reese Witherspoon. The wide side-parts and soft, swept waves are perfect for dressier occasions.

Curls with Bangs

Long, straight bangs add a bit of edge to loose curls. They also frame the face quite nice. Just check out the trend on Leighton Meester and Kim Kardashian.

False Bobs

If you don’t want to cut your long tresses, then do what Lauren Conrad and Rosario Dawson did, hide them. Tuck under your long hair into chic, curly bobs for a totally different look just for one night.
