Stars like Katie Holmes are fans of J Brand’s "Zombie" jeans, which merged two trends in one: tie-dye in light shades of gray and/or blue, and rips and tears at the knees. It’s young, edgy, summer.

On the other end of the spectrum, blue-black jeans are making the rounds as well. Slim type, ink-washed jeans can sub for your black pants, like what Cameron Diaz did with her pair, balancing her slim jeans with a loose, colorful top.

Denim designers seem to be getting inspiration from decades past. Check out Fergie’s tie-dye indigo jeans with bold white splotches. People.com described this trend as a "60s hippie meets an 80s punk rocker." Follow Fergie’s cue and pair your tie-dye jeans with a tailored blazer.

If you prefer a more subdued style, but still want to maintain a bit of edge, then follow Kylie Minogue’s lead and go for motocross styled jeans, complete with stitched details around the knee.
