Flowers to Fit Your Wedding Color Theme

wedding flowersOne of the biggest challenges in every wedding is choosing flowers that will coordinate with the wedding color theme. By focusing on the particular wedding colors and flowers, the bride and groom will enable to showcase these ornaments’ special meaning in the wedding.

In traditional wedding practices, the bridal bouquet was made up of white flowers to symbolize purity. Today, brides will choose a bouquet that will either coordinate or contrast to her wedding dress and the bridesmaid dresses.

Brides who will wear white can co-ordinate her flowers with your bridesmaids’ dresses. Choose flowers only after the color theme was finalized and dresses are already made. That way you can give a fabric swatch to your florist to color match the flowers.

A tougher, yet exciting challenge is choosing flowers that will match colored wedding gowns. A little more thought needs to go into the color of your bouquet.

Use a monochromatic color scheme. A pleasing effect will emerge by using flowers that are shades of the color of the wedding dress. A good example is by incorporating flowers that has intense deep blue or pale blue to match the blue dress.

Use a complementary scheme. A complementary color provides a natural color harmony. A green bouquet can give emphasis to a red wedding gown. The other complementary colors are yellow/purple and blue/orange. Complementary colors are colors that are opposite each other on the artist’s color wheel.

Use white flowers. This is an affirmation that white matches all colors. White wedding flowers will always look good against a colored dress.
