So whether you wish to get married in a local Church, a historic Cathedral, a castle next to Loch Ness or a Grand country house overlooking the Highlands – Scotland provides it all. Getting married in Scotland is legal for couples from the UK, US, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Europe & most other countries. Couples from overseas are catered for as Scotand is becomming a ever more popular destination wedding location.

Legally it is relatively simple to marry in Scotland. Weddings are legal here for couples from the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe & most other countries.

You can have a Religious ceremonies conducted at any time and in any place in Scotland as long as the Priest / Viccar or registered marriage celebrant agrees. In Scottish churches, there is no provision for getting married by the publishing of banns. Civil weddings however can only take place in a register office with the ceremony conducted by Registrar during office hours.

Because the weather in Scotland is so unpredictable – wedding venues are booked early to take the short summer dates. For this reason a wedding should be planned early.
