How to Tame Frizzy Hair

How to Tame Frizzy Hair

Curly hair ala Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman is gorgeous. But it can be hard to manage, especially if you are the wash-and-wear type. That said, here is how to tame frizzy hair within minutes:

Avoid too much shampooing

Shampooing too much dries out hair. Try washing your hair every other day or so to lock your hair’s natural oils and prevent it from drying out. But if you must shampoo your hair everyday, use a moisturizing conditioner.

When using conditioner, use your fingers to comb through your hair. Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes so your hair could soak it in. Rinse thoroughly.

Untangle your hair

Curly hair can get tangled especially after washing. Use a pick comb to untangle your hair. Towel-dry your hair and then apply an anti-frizz serum. Use enough to work through your hair.

Dry your hair properly

When you blow-dry, use a round brush and a hairdryer with a nozzle. The nozzle directs the heat down the hair shaft – making your hair smoother. Blow-dry in a downward motion. If you prefer to let your hair dry naturally, avoid touching it too much – especially on humid days – because it will prevent the serum from taming your hair.

Keep your serum on hand

Too keep your hair tamed and frizz-free, make sure you have serum on hand so you can touch-up on your hair throughout the day. The serum also keeps your hair shiny.

Get a regular trim

Getting a trim every 6-8 weeks also keeps hair from getting frizzy. Regular trim prevents split ends which is a major frizz factor.
