An apple a day keeps the doctor away, so the saying goes. They might as well switch ‘doctor’ with ‘dermatologist’ or ‘plastic surgeon.’

Lancôme has just released its latest anti-aging product that contains extracts from the fabled fruit.

Lancôme’s new Absolue Precious Cells has apple lysate which helps prevent UV damage. It also contains tried-and-tested anti-aging formulas such as ceramide and Pro-Xylane, a peptide derived from beech-wood.

Absolue Precious Cells does not only work to preserve your youthful complexion, it also aims to maintain the basal layer an optimal basal layer. The basal layer is the deepest part of the epidermis, and according to L’Oreal Research, this is where most skin-regenerating epidermal cells reside.

Initial in vivo clinical studies showed that skin appeared thicker and felt stronger in just one week.
