The Little Sequined Dress

Ever since French fashion house, Balmain, sent a sparkly little dress down the runway, other designers followed suit; sparking a trend which, according to Syle.com’s Laird Borrelli-Persson, appears "recession-proof." Though not all of us can afford a Balmain dress or any other designer’s collection for that matter, the ardor for the little sequined dress was rekindled.

Since then, the LSD (Little Sequined Dress) has made the rounds, from the Met Ball all the way to Cannes in sparkling defiance of the times. Designer Alexander Wang explains the current fascination with these shimmering pieces saying, "You slip them on like T-shirts, but still get this hard-edged kind of glamour."

Expect to see more little sequined dresses this fall.
