Why Homeopathy Is Not Always Good

With the current ‘everything-organic’ trend, a lot of people are reaching for medicinal herbs or alternative medications.

While there is nothing wrong with that – provided that what you’re taking is FDA approved – it has been reported in the March/April issue of the Aesthetic Surgery Journal that an astounding 70 percent of plastic surgery patients fail to inform their physicians that they are taking alternative medicines.

It maybe due to plain and simple negligence. However, some of the patients intentionally held this specific information from their doctor because of the common fear that their doctors may look down on them for trusting alternative meds to work.

Experts urge plastic surgery patients, as well as other patients who take alternative medications to tell their doctors about it because some medications or their ingredients can be harmful to your system, particularly during or right after surgery.

Some their health-threatening effects include:

  • cardiovascular effects
  • sedative effects
  • increased bleeding

If you’d rather use "organic" stuff to heal your surgery marks, as your physician or a licensed herbalist about "organic" supplements or herbal remedies that is safe for you to take after your operation.
