Our face is what people see in us first; that is why we should take care of it and make it the best as it can be. To take care of your face properly, there are three steps that you should follow: Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturizing. Women who wear make-up should carry out these three steps every evening, as well as washing the face in the morning. Read this article to guide you through this process.
Cleansing
The first step in facial care, it will remove old make-up as well as grime and grease that have been accumulated during the day.
Remove mascara with a cotton bud dipped in eye-cleansing lotion or petroleum jelly. Make sure to keep your hair off your face to make this task easier.
Remove the eyeshadow by gently wiping it off with a cotton pad moistened with eye-cleansing lotion or petroleum jelly.
Pour a little face-cleansing cream into the palm of one hand and-using two fingers of the other hand-dab it generously over the nose, chin, forehead, and cheeks.
Using the fingertips, massage the cream into the skin, starting from the neck then working your way up to the forehead through gentle upward motion.
Gently massage the cream from the eyes to the nose, then back over the chin-which is particularly prone to blackheads.
Remove the cream from the face with tissue pads in each hand. Start from under the chin and work over the cheeks and on to the forehead.
Toning
Toners remove all traces of dirt, make-up or cleanser that remain after cleansing, which if unchecked could cause skin irritation.
After cleansing, immediately apply the toner to the forehead and cheeks on a cotton pad.
Apply the tone evenly on the face, with particular attention to the nose and chin.
Moisturizing
Without moisture, the skin will not remain smooth and supple. The face is exposed to the drying effect of the weather. What moisturizers do is that it forms a thin layer of film over the skin to contain and augment the natural moisture.
Using the fingertips, dot moisturizing cream lightly all over the face.
Press the fingers of both hands into the center of the forehead and work the cream slowly outwards.
Pat the cream gently around the eyes.
Work the cream around the jawline, chin, and mouth. It is recommended to use the tips of your middle fingers in this step.
Massage the cream over th throat with alternating hand, using upward strokes from the collarbone to the chin.
