Prom Fashion Advices for Girls

Prom dressFinding the perfect look for prom does not have to be so stressful. Always remember to start planning for your look early and check out these cool guidelines to look your best come prom night.

Emphasize your best assets – Know the favorite parts of your body that you would like to show off when choosing for that perfect dress. A cocktail dress flaunts the legs; a capped-sleeve dress or a sophisticated shawl would cover your not-so-slim arms; a fitted column dress creates an hourglass shape on your body; a large ball gown skirt hides your derrière.

Keep color in mind – Black works for all skin tones, but if you are going for color, be sure you use the right shade. Pale pinks and peaches washes out ivory skin, but deeper pinks or apricot are a perfect hue for light complexions. Creamy white, meanwhile, highlights warmer skin tones.

Less is more – Always remember that you can look fabulous without revealing much or wearing sequins from head to toe. Sequins and embroidery are great on dresses, and should be matched with simplicity when it comes to make-up, bags, heels, etc. Stay away from a cleavage-and-slit dress. If you go for a two-piece midriff-baring look, make sure that the skirt is on the conservative side.

Try not to drift away from your personal style – Your signature look is still your best look. If you tend to go for sophisticated styles, a clean black column dress or an elegant cocktail dress would work great. If you opt for the preppy look, a bold black-and-white look would be perfect.
