Home Made Hair Repair Recipes

hair treatmentLack luster hair and split ends are just some of a girl’s hair-raising problems. But a tight budget or a tight schedule could leave your hair in a rut. Fear not. Just raid your kitchen and for some edible hair care recipes.

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise is not just a condiment that goes into your sandwich. Mayonnaise softens hair and makes it shiny. To do it, comb just enough mayonnaise to coat your hair lightly. Leave it on for 30 minutes then shampoo your hair and rinse thoroughly. For an even deeper conditioning treatment, put a shower cap on your mayo-covered head, leave on for longer than 30 minutes (you can even leave the mayo on overnight if your hair is extra dry), then shampoo and rinse.

Vinegar

Vinegar is well-known cooking ingredient and health tonic. Vinegar removes residue that dulls hair. When you rinse your hair, add about a tablespoon vinegar. If you have an itchy scalp or dandruff, you can try massaging your scalp with full-strength apple cider vinegar before shampooing your hair. Additional benefits of vinegar include skin healing properties.

Avocado

Combine avocado, one egg yolk and a dash of olive oil. Massage this paste through your hair and leave it on for 30 minutes. Shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Once you are through with this, your hair is going to look amazing. So next time you forgot your avocado in the fridge, don’t throw it out just yet.

Eggs

Eggs are naturally rich in protein. Hair that has emerged from the skin is made out of keratinized proteins. To make the most out of the protein from eggs – minus the cholesterol – is to use them as a hair care potion. First, crack a few eggs in bowl and beat them together.

After shampooing, massage your beaten eggs into your hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes then rinse it out thoroughly. This egg treatment strengthens and repairs hair follicles, making your hair silkier and gives it body. Another idea is to whisk one egg yolk together with a dash of olive oil and ¾ cups of warm water.

Beer

Beer is not just something you jug-a-lug. It’s also a styling tonic – and a conditioner. To go about it, shampoo and rinse your hair like you normally would. Then, pour one bottle of beer through your hair and massage from scalp to ends. Rinse thoroughly with cold water so you will take the smell out. After this, you hair will be shinier and fuller.
