The San Diego fashion week will be held at San Diego Bay’s Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina, under a permanent 20,000 sq. ft. tent. on Sept. 28-Oct. 5, 2008.
San Diego fashion week is the only bi-national fashion week in the world. It highlights the region’s fashion culture and heritage, featuring designers from Mexico and the US.
The even will have the usual seven days of fashion shows, daytime entertainment and of course, over-the-top after-parties. The finale show will be followed by an all-night party inside the tent. DJs will set the night’s party tone as performers take on the runway. The following day, the tent will be transformed into the ultimate trunk show with high-end designer after high-end designer displaying their creations.
Tickets fro the San Diego fashion week will be available to the public as well. However, the number of tickets will be limited.
Allison Andrews, president of Fashion Week San Diego, explains "This is an industry professional event, but we really wanted to open it up to the public as well," "We have released a limited number of tickets for the general public because I feel that the fashion enthusiasts are just as much a part of the industry as a fashion editor, a buyer or a boutique owner."
The organizers of Fashion Week will be releasing tickets available as: single day passes, three-day passes, week-passes and VIP passes. VIP passes will allow holders seating in the front three rows at every show, as well as seating in the hosted bar in the tent during all the fashion shows and VIP access into all after-parties and opportunities to network with the who’s-who of the fashion industry. Tickets for the in-tent shopping event are available for $15. The proceeds of the tickets will benefit the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation.
