Do you know that those fresh-smelling sheets you put in your dryer have other good uses? Check out what other things your dryer sheets can do to your home.
Eliminates static electricity – Dryer sheets are designed to help eliminate static electricity. Simply wipe your television screen or Venetian blinds with a used dryer sheet to keep dust from resettling. You can also rub a damp, used sheet over the pantyhose to prevent it from clinging.
Freshens the air in your home – Place an individual sheet in a drawer or hang one in the closet.
Dissolves soap scum from shower doors – Wipe the panels clean with a used dryer sheet.
Prevents threads from tangling – Run a threaded needle through a dryer sheet to eliminate the static clinging on the thread before sewing.
Eliminates static cling from pantyhose – Rub a damp, used sheet over the hose.
Prevents musty suitcases – Place an individual sheet inside an empty luggage for several hours before storing.
Freshens the air in your car – Place a dryer sheet under the front seat for that fresh-air feel.
Cleans baked-on food from a cooking pan – Put a dryer sheet on a pan, fill it with water, and let sit overnight. Sponge it clean afterwards. The anti-static agents apparently weaken the bond between the burnt food and the pan while the fabric softening agents soften the baked-on food.
Eliminates odors in wastebaskets – Place a sheet at the bottom of the wastebasket.
Collects cat hair – Rub the area with a dryer sheet and it magnetically attracts all the loose hairs.
Deodorizes shoes or sneakers – Place a sheet in each of your shoes or sneakers overnight so they smell great in the morning.
Gives your home a fresh feeling – There are limitless places where you can place a dryer sheet for that fresh-air scent: inside a flower vase, behind picture frames, behind curtains, inside garbage cans, behind book shelves. But remember, do not put too much because you still need them in your dryer.
