Proportion is the key. If you’re self-conscious about your tummy, hip, butt area, pick a pair of jeans that are straight legs.

Skinny jeans should always be room to breathe but make sure they aren’t too baggy either. Choose jeans with a bit of stretch, but no more than 2% spandex, for a comfy fit.

Try brands that you know look good on your body. Choose those pants that flatter your figure not those that skinny model wear. 

Mid to high waists give proportion and help tame tummies, whilst simple styles give great lines.

Pair with long blouses, shirts and sweaters. Remember, the slimmer the leg, the fuller the top. Tucking them into boots is still chic and especially convenient for staying warm when the weather cools.

Pick long enough to at least cover the ankles. This will help give the illusion of height and make your legs look longer than they are. If you must wear flats, pick a pointed toe to help elongate legs, giving you a long and lean silhouette.

The most adaptable skinny jeans are basic black, but don’t be afraid to add a dash of bold color to zip up an off-the-shoulder big sweater.
