Choosing the Perfect Leggings

Many women have been channeling their inner 80’s with the revival of leggings and it seems it will not go away easily. And perfectly so, because these leg wear can be worn on different occasions, they also now come in different colors and styles to flatter every body type. However, choosing the best pair of leggings for every event can be a pain in the head, so here are some helpful tips.

The basic style – You can never go wrong with a pair of black, ankle-length leggings without any ornaments. It is the type worn by dancers during rehearsals or performances. The basic black leggings go well with any type of clothing, even shorts and short skirts (except for pants, of course). Try them on with flats or heels.

The knee-length – Not all people can wear leggings that are up to the knees. Those with bigger calf muscles compared to the rest of the leg, for instance, should avoid knee-length leggings because it would make their calf muscles even bigger.

The stirrup leggings – Women with short legs should go for the stirrup leggings, characterized by its loops at the bottom that are used to hook the feet with. Because the stirrup pulls the whole leggings, it becomes more flattering to the legs and even create an illusion of length.

Go for color and texture – If you are playful enough, choose from a variety of colors, textures, and patterns for leggings. From the neon-colored to shredded to the ones with stripes, you can even try matching your leggings with what you would wear for the day. However, do note that such styles are advisable for women with proportioned long legs.
