Oscar de la Renta’s pre-fall collection was a bit hopeful – judging by the rather exuberant pieces that went down his runway.
There were plenty of embroidered (in black and white sequins) party frocks, beige silk faille with gold stitching, tweeds, embroidered leather skirts, and a stunning black leather jacket and faille skirt number both elaborately embroidered in gold and metallic yarn, highlighted by antique metal sequins and beads.
And if that’s not hopeful or exuberant enough, the collection is replete with accessories. Name it: nags, hats, huge earrings – this pre-fall collection has it.
Speaking of handbags, Oscar de la Renta’s pre-fall 2009 runway show definitely added to the exuberance. Different materials were used for the bag collection including leather, metallic leather and exotics. The totes were their signature unusual shape (still with huge twin pockets in front) in metallic python and bright yellow. The hobos were a bit more toned down in black and woven straps. The clutches were also signature Oscar de la Renta, fabulously sporting intricate detailing and some seriously large sparklers.
The bags are available online and at Oscar de la Renta boutiques.
